Bright Ideas - Camp and Sleepovers
Sleepover Drive in Event
From Wendy Berg.
It's a sleepover event that the girls just love to come to!
In February, all the Brownies gather at the hall and the event begins
- with the girls making their cars for the drive inn out of cardboard boxes
and anything else the leaders can scrounge, like paper plates for wheels;
glitter, glue and paper for decoration.
- The girls drive around in their cars and some get speed warnings from the
police (Senior Branch girls).
- The girls are asked to bring in pennies,
- and they can purchase food at the concession stand
- and they can also vote for the movie they will be seeing, by placing a
penny by the movie they wish to see. The movie that has the most pennies
is the one that is watched that evening.
- The girls park in stalls that are defined with pylon markers.
- Some of the girls have their blankets in their cars and some even fall
asleep watching the movie.
- All the pennies collected are donated to the Thinking Day Fund and
everyone has a great time.
This is also a wonderful bridging event!
