Hoe Down Night
One of the best meetings we've had this year was our
"Hoe Down" night.
All the girls and leaders dressed up in their country
duds, pigtails and cowboy hats.
The hall was decorated with a big O.K. CORRAL sign,
cactus cutouts and western style posters with such things as "Check Your
Pistols At The Door", "No Spittin', Chewin', or Cussin'",
and the girls' favourites were the WANTED posters
with pictures of the leaders on them.
We even managed to bring in a bale of straw - great
photo op
The girls learned several country dances, including the
Electric Slide, Cotton Eyed Joe, Cadillac Ranch and the Hawaiian Cowboy.
To catch our breath between the dancing, we learned to
play the spoons and made a western tie beaded key chain.
A hootin' good time was had by all, and best of all …
